From June 9–15, Fathers Fighting 4 Fathers (FF4F) launched our first Father’s Day Kickoff Week — a citywide campaign to uplift and reconnect fathers with their children, schools, and communities. What began as a series of events became a powerful reminder of why FF4F exists: to help fathers reclaim their place at the center of the family.

We kicked off the week Monday with 71 dads receiving health screenings and mental health support through our Dad & Father Figures Healthy Check-Up, thanks to our partners at B’more for Healthy Babies.

On Wednesday, we served families at Hannah More Family Center, providing 31 gift bags, mental health services with King Health Systems, and Orioles tickets to families for Fathers Day! We saw firsthand the untold story of fathers with their wives and children navigating hardship — and why we must keep showing up.

Thursday, we brought 58 young dads ( 18 to 30 year -old) and their 5th graders together with teachers and police officers for a community basketball game — a celebration of unity, trust, and active fatherhood.

Friday, we partnered with Faith Base - Union Baptist Church to host a BBQ for McCulloh Homes, feeding 126 families and children, many who rarely experience this kind of fellowship. We started off with prayer and ended with fellowship!

Saturday, 82 fathers and their children joined us for a Community Walk around Druid Hill Reservoir, taking steps toward healing, health, and father-child bonding.

And one of our proudest moments: we participated 2 graduation ceremonies for 21 dads and their sons and daughters—fathers who were completely absent last year but participated in at least 4 of our events and worked hard to rebuild those connections with their children!

These moments were proof of transformation—and why FF4F matters.

Last week wasn’t just a celebration. It was a blueprint. And we’re committed to doing this work 365 days a year. All this is made possible through your support! Thank you!

Lastly FF4F did 3 local media interviews covering our events throughout the week.
